For those of you who have never been on our annual holiday, this very popular Group activity is often booked year after year by those of our riders who enjoy the extra
challenge that riding daily in the Welsh hills can bring. Add to that the bonus of caring for your own horse/pony on a daily basis; fresh air; good wholesome food; great company (each rider is allocated an able-bodied riding partner); and sleeping in well appointed, purpose-built accommodation; and you can see why the limited places available on each holiday are so sought after!
(Because of health & safety, and the relative scarcity of experienced riding-helpers,
riding places are limited to 6 per holiday.)
The costs include payment for use of the horse, food & accommodation for each rider, (any accompanying carer being charged for food and accommodation only.)
(Notification of interest should be made to Ian / Beryl as soon as possible.)

Reporting of Accidents
Under the terms of the RDA Insurance cover, it is Member Groups’ responsibility to notify RDA HQ of any accidents where medical assistance is required, especially admittance to hospital.
The RDA Insurers need to know about the accident AT THE TIME in order that details of the accident can be investigated, if necessary. prior to any claim being made.
Failure to report accidents COULD lead to the insurers not providing cover and the Member Group might be left to fight the case itself.
Members/Helpers: Please remember that the Group MUST notify RDA Headquarters whenever medical attention is required as a result of an accident. We rely on you to help keep us informed.

Let the Committee know if there is anything specific you would like to cover.
Helpers & Leaders are expected to attend at least one Training event each year in order to comply with National Health & Safety Standards.

Information Update
Please let us know of any changes
to your circumstances, i.e.: health, weight gains/losses, new address, new telephone number etc. (The information you give, helps us to help you.)
Health & Safety, and
Child Protection Issues
1. Make sure you always wear protective
headgear & suitable footwear whenever you are involved in either riding, leading or walking beside a horse in the schooling area. Ask a Committee member if you are unsure -
If in doubt, keep out!
2. Riders & Helpers should always bear in mind the health risks involved in any work/contact with horses, and in line with the latest National RDA advice, we strongly urge immunisation against Hepatitis B, Tetanus & Polio.
3. The current Health & Safety, and Fire
Regulations pertaining to your Rides at Wrea Green & the RDA, together with the Group's Accident Book, are held by the Organiser of your Committee, and are available for viewing every Tuesday evening.
4. Any person having any concerns
regarding health, safety or child protection should contact Diane (the RDA Instructor) at the yard, or our Group Chairperson, Beryl Clarkson. All such discussions will be treated as confidential.
5. Remember! - Riding is an "at risk" activity. The Committee therefore advise that all our Riders take out their own insurance cover for RDA activities.

More Helpers needed!
Do you know anyone who has a couple of hours to spare on a weekly basis and would be willing to assist as a helper during our weekly rides? Our Group really needs some more helpers to either lead the horses, or just to walk alongside our riders.
Training would be given.

Any cancellation of Rides MUST be
notified to Ian (01253 761144), before 4:00pm if possible. Or to the Centre, Wrea Green (01772 686576), after 4:00pm. Failure to do so may mean a fee being charged for the inconvenience caused to the Riding Centre
